AC Rufus at night

I said it for YEARS. Years and no one believed me. Oh, but how right I was! Rufus ShinRa did indeed survive the fall of ShinRa. Now, two years later, we again dive into the world of Final Fantasy VII with Advent Children. I waited a while to put a page up on AC, even though I knew from the first clip of the mysterious "wheelchair man" was our beloved President. I now feel that there's enough media out there for me to compile a section.

What We Know
So, what do we know so far? We know for a fact that Rufus is alive. I hope you all understand what a HUUGE thing that in itself is! (Everyone who stayed loyal to Rufus all along pat yourself on the back!) We do know Rufus is indeed the wheelchair man from the trailors, as his name is listed in the seiyuu credits. Rufus's voice is being played by Tohru Okawa (who also voiced Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist and several other characters in other series). Anyone who doesn't think the wheelchair person is Rufus has really only to listen to him speak in the trailor. He also says "Ware-ware wa", when speaking to Cloud about Kadaaj. This is a way of speaking that a Royal person would use (in Japanese). It's him.

What We Speculate
Keep in mind that everything is technically only guess until the movie is out, and I'm only presenting what makes the most sense to me. We're 99.9% sure the man in the wheelchair is Rufus and not Sephiroth, etc. We see one of the clones (Kadaj) bend to kiss his hand and call him "Mr. President". (I can't say I know what's going on there.) In the trailors we see the Turks standing with the man as he speaks to Cloud; Therefore we are lead to assume the Turks are still loyal to Rufus. Several theories revolve around the idea that the Turks recruit Cloud to help them with some cause. This seems rather likely to me, although I can't say what I think that could be. It was thought a while back that the Turks are now working freelance, but after the scenes of them with Rufus, I don't believe that. Even if they had quit ShinRa, I think they're back now. As for why Rufus would be in the wheel chair and covered by a sheet? I think that's fairly obvious. He did kinda take a blast to the face, and is now most likey harmed, paralized, or disfigured. In the trailors we see ShinRa banners and cranes in the window behind Rufus. Because of this I think that Rufus intends to rebuild the ShinRa empire, and that his plans are probably already underway.
